Patricia Joan "Josie" Vaccaro

MADISON- Patricia Joan "Josie" Vaccaro, age 85, passed away Saturday, March 5, 2016 surrounded by her family. She was born June 5, 1930 in Prairie du Chien the only daughter of Micheal Lloyd and Josephine Glynn. She graduated from St. Mary's Academy High School in Prairie du Chien in 1948. Afterwards she attended St. Mary's Hospital School of Nursing in Rockford, Ill, graduating in 1956 with a degree of nursing. While attending nursing school she met her lifetime companion and future husband, at the Green Shutters, in Rockford, Ill. They married on December 29, 1956. She began her career at St. Anthony's in Rockford and became a surgical nurse. She retired from St. Mary's Hospital while practicing physicatric nursing in June 1992. Josie and Len started their family in 1959; Mark Anthony, Matthew Joseph (Kathy), Lora Anne, Paul Michael, Christopher Luke (Debbie) and Kelly Jo (Ryan) and led to seven grandchildren; Chase, Cody, Tia, Cole, Morgan, Sophia, and Nina. She enjoyed her retirement by traveling to Italy, Ireland, and Sicily and throughout the United States. Vatican. She also enjoyed her grandchildren, flowers, puzzles and her love of music. She is survived by her children, grandchildren and five brothers; John, Jerry, Michael, Maurice and Gregory. A private service will be held at Forest Hill Cemetery. A celebration of life will be held at Benvenuto's Restaurant, 2949 Triverton Pike Dr, Fitchburg on Thursday, March 24, 2016 from 3:00pm until 6:00pm.
