Arthur Chen March 7, 1929 - March 4, 2016 It is with great sadness we announce the passing of our beloved Arthur Chen. Arthur passed away peacefully at his home in Cooper City, Florida after a heroic battle with cancer. Arthur emigrated from Jamaica to Florida at the age of 45 and worked hard to establish his business, Safe Lift Corp., of over 30 years. He forged many long-standing relationships with his customers and vendors as his charm was infectious. He was an avid gardener, spending most of his time out in the yard amongst his many trees and plants, unselfishly sharing his yield with friends, family and strangers. Arthur is predeceased by his parents Frances (nee Elliot) and John Chen Sang, first wife Madge (nee Chen - 2007), his daughter, Audrey, his brother Joseph (Gloria), sisters Cissy, Daisy (Oswald Chin) and Leonie. He is survived by his children Suzanne and Paul (Patty) and grandchildren Lucas and Benjamin, and will be deeply missed by his loving wife Barbara (nee Hugh). Viewing will be on Friday, March 11, 2016, from 5 p.m.- 9p.m. Funeral service will be on Saturday, March 12, 2016, at 11 a.m. followed by internment at Hollywood Memorial Gardens North 3001 N 72nd Avenue, Hollywood, FL. Following the service at the cemetery, guests are invited to join the family for refreshments in the reception hall.
