Karen F. Johnson

Karen Faye Johnson went to be with her Lord and Savior on March 14, 2016, at the age of 79 years, 1 month and 4 days. Karen was born in Forest City, Iowa to her parents Oliver and Nettie (Westerberg) Tweeten. Karen graduated from Forest City High School and received a teacher's certificate from the University of Northern Iowa. She taught sixth grade at Norway and Oxford, IA, putting the love of her life through dental school. Karen married Dr. Donald G. Johnson on June 20, 1958. To this union two sons, Dr. Steven H. Johnson and Markley G Johnson were born and were the pride and joy of her life. Karen was an active and exemplary example of a Christian. Karen at a young age accepted Jesus as her personal Savior and was baptized to show her identity in him. She held many offices in her church. Karen enjoyed painting and handwork, Hardanger embroidery, friends and family. She and her family were able to travel to many parts of the world. Karen always had a smile on her face and maintained a positive outlook on life. Even towards the end of her life she would still say "I'm doing O.K." She was preceded in death by her parents; two brothers, Roger Tweeten and Wallace Tweeten; brother-in-law Dr. John Trentman, and infant grandson Maxwell.
