Leonard J. Thiessen

Mr. Leonard John Thiessen, Sr. age 91, passed away on Tuesday, April 19, 2016, at John Knox Village. At the time of his passing he was on the hearts of those he loved the most. Leonard was born on May 3, 1924, in Prospect Park, NJ. A WWII Navy veteran, Leonard honorably served his country with the United States Navy throughout the Pacific Theatre. He held several memberships, as the Past Exaulted Ruler of the Hollywood Elks Lodge, member of the Sebastian Elks Lodge, the American Legion and the Disabled American Veterans (DAV). Leonard is survived by children and their spouses; Leonard Jr. and Shizuko Thiessen, Ellie and Harry Kelleher, Albert and Linda Thiessen; his son-in-law, David Ryan; 5 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was predeceased by his daughter, Chris Ryan, and his wives, Tina and Vicky.
