Howard Pershing Miller, 97, of Sun City West, Arizona, formerly of Ackley and Hampton, Iowa, passed away Friday, April 22, 2016, at Banner Hospice in Sun City West, Arizona. He was born on November 9, 1918, in Hampton, to Ira M. and Mabel (Patton) Miller. Howard graduated from Hampton High School, class of 1935. He was united in marriage to Mildred M. Greier on September 4, 1937, in Hampton. Howard served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He farmed and was an insurance agent and real estate agent. Howard was a member of Rotary, Elks and American Legion. He enjoyed fishing, golfing and playing cards. Howard is survived by his son John H. (Jan) Miller of Sun City West, Arizona, son William Ryan (Carmen) Miller of Hauser, Idaho, daughter Patricia Ann (Frank) Brush of Burlington, Kansas, daughter-in-law Sally Miller of Marietta, Georgia, grandchildren Heath, Alane, Tasha, Chad, Paul, John, Ruth, Tyler and Zachary, four great-grandchildren, longtime companion Joan Hansen of Sun City West, Arizona, sister Fern Drury of Fountain, Minnesota, brother Dean (Norma) Miller of Hampton, Iowa, brother-in-law Peter Hansen of Phoenix, Arizona, along with several...[more]

Burial will take place in the Hampton Cemetery.
