a woman of deep faith and had been an active member of the Faith United Methodist Church in Faith, South Dakota, The First United Methodist Church in Rapid City South Dakota and St. Luke?s United Methodist Church in Indianapolis. She also loved to play bridge and had created many bridge friends wherever she lived. She brought four children into the world: Sheilah Eddy of Seattle, Kent Millard (Minnietta) of Indianapolis, Judy Millard of Lethbridge, Alberta, Canada, and Darshan Klassen (Lloyd) of Boissevain, Manitoba, Canada. She dearly loved her 10 grandchildren Shawn Wagonseller (Bill) of Seattle, Laurie Finger (Ron) of Sturgis, South Dakota, Sam Eddy of Amsterdam Holland, Kendall Millard (Katherine) of Indianapolis, Koretta Hall (Eddie) of Indianapolis, Sarah Nodge, Matthew Nodge and Lars Nodge of Alberta Canada, and Nathan and Jonathan Klassen of Manitoba, Canada. She is also survived by 12 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren and by three sisters (Estelle, Pauline, and Sue) and three brothers (Elvin, Donald Dean and Larry Wilson) and their families. She is predeceased by her husband Hughes, her parents and one brother, Grady Wilson Jr. She particularly appreciated the loving care given by so many family and friends during the last months of her life. Her favorite prayers were ?O Lord, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can and the wisdom to know the difference? and ?God I surrender my life to you, do with me as you will and I sure thank you.? The Indianapolis memorial service for Gertrude Millard will be at St. Luke?s United Methodist Church, (100 W 86th Street) at 3:00 pm on Wednesday, June 14 with visitation at the church from noon to 3:00 pm. A second memorial service will he held at First United Methodist Church, Rapid City, South Dakota at 10 am on Saturday, June 17, 2006. Internment will be at Pine Lawn Cemetery in Rapid City. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel Indianapolis.
