Donald Clark Howard
A long-time member of Colonial Hills Baptist Church, Don entered into heaven on November 21. He was born to Ernest ?Sol? and Mable Bolton Howard on May 28, 1921, in Homeplace, Indiana. Don graduated from Carmel High School and attended the Indiana University in Bloomington. Because of an illness, he did not get to finish college. Don wrote for the Noblesville Ledger for years as a news writer. Don?s mother was instrumental in the naming of Homeplace. In later years Don wrote the history of Homeplace, which is now in the Carmel Library. Don is survived by several cousins: Clarence Barker, Ruth Nesbitt, Dr. William Fulton, Jack Barker, and Anna Louise Parke. Visitation will be at 5:00 p.m. Sunday, November 26th at Colonial Hills Baptist Church, 80th Street and Keystone Avenue, with the service following at 6:00 p.m. at the church. Burial will be at Little Eagle Creek Christian Cemetery in Eagletown, Indiana, on Monday, November 27th, at 10:00 a.m. In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Don Howard Memorial Fund, Colonial Hills Baptist Church 8151 Union Chapel Road, Indianapolis, IN 46240.
