Marietta W. Holman

Marietta Wood Holman passed away on December 2, 2006. She was born in Indianapolis, IN., on July 19, 1917 to the late Lena Huxley Wood and Carl E. Wood. She attended Shortridge High School and The Western College Program of Miami University (Ohio). She graduated from Indiana University. On November 9, 1941, she married Dr. Jerome E. Holman, jr. who passed away in 1989. Marietta is survived by her son, Dr. Jerome E. (Kathy) Holman and her daughter Debra Holman (Larry) Osterink. She is also survived by four grandchildren ? Catherine Stone, Jason Holman, Elizabeth Osterink and Andy Osterink. Marietta was a member of Alpha Chi Omega sorority and an Alumna Trustee of Miami University. She participated in many volunteer activities including Beta Beta of Alpha Chi Omega, Sunnyside Guild, Alpha Nu Latrien service organization and the Indianapolis Opera Guild. She was a member of St. Luke?s United Methodist Church and volunteered at The Garden of St. Luke?s.
