Elinor Fay Bach
Elinor Fay Bach, 90, passed away at home on January 3, 2007. She was the wife of Robert L. Bach, retired general counsel and secretary of American United Life Insurance Company. Fay was a teacher at several public schools throughout Indiana, and in her later years served as a substitute teacher at Tech and other Indianapolis area high schools. Fay was President of Nora Parents? & Teachers Organization. During her term as president of Nora PTO, she helped form the Northwinds Big Band, which is still active today. Fay graduated from Purdue University in 1939. During her undergraduate days, she was an announcer and interviewer at WBAA, ?The Voice of Purdue.? She was a member of Fletcher Place Service League and was actively involved in the many charitable functions of that organization. Fay was a charter member of St. Luke?s United Methodist Church in Indianapolis and was a trustee through its first years. She was also a member of Indiana Lawyers? Wives, the Society of Indiana Pioneers and the Indianapolis Opera Guild. Fay loved to travel and, together with her husband, traveled the globe several times over. Bach, her son, Robert O. Bach, and various nieces, nephew, and cousins. Fay was a cousin to Indiana?s governor, Frank O?Bannon. Services will be private.
