Funeral services for Gerald Edward Rogers, 78, will be held at 11 am on Thursday, April 5, 2007 in the Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 N. Meridian St., Indianapolis, IN 46260 where friends and family will gather from 10 am until the time of service in the parlor at the church. Mr. Rogers died on Monday, April 2, 2007 in his home. Mr. Rogers graduated from West End High School of Nashville, TN in 1946 where he was a member of the Boys State Basketball Championship team and the All City Championship Football team. He graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Tennessee in 1950. He joined the National Guard upon graduation and was activated into the United States Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He joined the IBM Corporation in 1952 where he served his entire 39-year career. During that career he was inducted into membership of the National Space Club in 1964. He was recognized as a member of the IBM team serving the Saturn/Apollo Space Program. He was a 50-year contributing member of the University of Tennessee and a 32 degree member of the Scottish Rite. Survivors include his wife of 53 years, Carolyn Currey Rogers; his daughter, Katherine Brown (John) of Charlotte, NC.; sons, Thomas Rogers (Kim) of Indianapolis and Graham Rogers (Rosie) of Charlotte, NC; grandchildren, William, Martha and Margaret Brown of Charlotte, NC.; Courtney, Heather and Tommy Rogers of Indianapolis; Shannon and Haley Rogers of Charlotte, NC. and his sister, Dorothy Maddox of Pensacola, FL.
