Robert F. Bowers

Robert Foley Bowers, 85, of Venice passed away February 13, 2007. Robert was born June 8, 1921 in Indianapolis, Indiana. He moved to the Venice area in 1972 from Indianapolis. He was the owner of Bowers Envelope and Lithograph Company located in Indianapolis. Robert was a member of Our Lady of Lourdes and the Jacaranda Golf & Country Club where he won many tournaments and also had 4 holes in one. He was a graduate of Notre Dame where he played baseball and football and was a member of the Notre Dame Alumni Association. He was of military service for four years from 1942-1946 as Warrant Officer, U.S. Army. He is survived by his wife, Doris; his daughters: Sandra Murman and husband Jim of Tampa, Florida and Linda Bowers of Hendersonville, North Carolina; three grandchildren: Michele Murman, Jennifer Farnsworth and Eric Wollenhaupt, and two great grandchildren. Robert is preceded in death by two daughters, Sharon Bowers and Kathleen Kaptain and his wife of forty-three years Jane Bowers. Friends and family may visit in the Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel on Friday from 5 pm to 7 p.m. A graveside service will be held Saturday at Holy Cross Cemetery at 11:00 a.m. In lieu of f...[more]
