Kathryn Quinn Tuttle, 97 of Indianapolis passed away June 12, 2007. She was born January 10, 1910 in Fanwood, NJ to the late John G. and Elizabeth (Firsich) Quinn. Mrs. Tuttle was raised in Indianapolis where she attended St. Joan of Arc grade school and graduated from St. Agnes Academy. A member of Delta Delta Delta sorority Kathryn graduated Suma Cum Laude from Butler University in 1932 obtaining a degree in Horticulture. She moved to New York for graduate work at Columbia University. While at Columbia she lived with her aunt Mary (Quinn) Sullivan, a co-founder of the Museum of Modern Art. Pursuing her career, she became director of cactus and succulents at the New York Botanical Gardens. In New York she met and married Harry F.Tuttle. Kathryn and Harry moved to Indianapolis at the start of World War II where they raised a family and started a successful business. She was Chairman and CEO of Tuttle Aluminum & Bronze Co., a charter member of St. Luke Catholic Church and a member of the Women?s Business Association of Indiana. e U.S. Flower Association. Kathryn will be remembered as a loving mother and a wonderful grandmother. Her husband, Harry F. Tuttle, son J. Thomas Tuttle, daughter-in-law Judith Tuttle, and brothers Thomas F. and John J. Quinn, predeceased her. Survived by son, Peter Quinn Tuttle (Jill), daughter Sarah Tuttle Switek (Robert), daughter-in-law Jane Burroughs Tuttle and sister, Elizabeth Quinn Peck. Grandchildren Lisa (Peter) French, Quinn (Sydney) Tuttle, Alex (Molly) Tuttle, Emily (Dustin) DeMilt, John Tuttle, Jennifer Tuttle, Toby Switek, and Katie Switek along with 13 great-grandchildren. Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 9:30 am on Friday, June 15 th at St. Luke Catholic Church with calling there from 9:00 am. Burial will follow at Calvary Catholic Cemetery.
