William (Bill) J. Baker, age 53 of Indianapolis , IN passed away September 8, 2007 after a lengthy battle with melanoma. Bill was born in Indianapolis where he would reside for the entirety of his life. He graduated from North Central High School in 1972, then matriculated to Purdue University. While at Purdue he joined the Delta Delta chapter of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. Upon Graduation in 1976, Bill started William J. Baker Realtors, LLC where he found great success for the next thirty years. Bill grounded his faith at First Baptist Church of Indianapolis where he served as their treasurer for many years, as well as being active in several bible study groups. Through the church and his selflessness, Bill became the treasurer and board member of the Edna Martin Christian Center. Bill was a natural born golfer. His passion for the game was evident through his participation in high school, college, and as a member of Highland Golf and Country Club. He was a past Board member, golf chairman and The Club Champion in 1982. Funeral services will be conducted on Wednesday at 11:00 am in the First Baptist Church , 8600 N. His parents also survive, John W. and Ruth Brown Baker.
