George Mihal

George Louis Mihal, 83, resident of Carmel, IN, passed away December 5, 2007. George was born in Gary, IN on January 2, 1924 and graduated from Gary Emerson High School. He also graduated from Purdue University and was a member of Purdue?s football team for four years. He received his Master?s degree in Education from Indiana University and taught at Arsenal Technical High School, Indianapolis, from 1947-1956 and at Ball State University in the school of Physical Education for 36 years. He was preceded in death by his parents John and Anna (Kurdelak) Mihal, his five brothers, John, Steve, Joe, Andrew, Albert and five sisters, Anna Lomax, Marie Adams, Agnes Talmus, Helen Zamara and Elizabeth Johnson. He is survived by his loving wife of over 60 years, Catherine (McLaughlin) Mihal; two children, Kathleen (Mihal) Reifers and Thomas Mihal; two grandchildren, Brett and Blake Reifers and brother, Frank (Irene) Mihal. He was a member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church, Purdue Alumni Assoc., Purdue Varsity ?P? Club, John Purdue Club and Sigma Chi Fraternity.
