Herbert Allen Wilson born April 10, 1932 in Indianapolis to Judge Herbert Earle Wilson and Elizabeth Allen Wilson, passed away Sunday, January 4, 2009. Herb was a member of the 1950 class of Park School where he received awards for sports and citizenship, and later served as the chair of his alumni association. He attended Dartmouth College, Indiana University and Wabash College, and was a Life Loyal member of Sigma Chi fraternity. Herb retired as Department Head of Guest Relations at Eli Lilly & Company after a 33 year career. He had an ownership interest in, and served as an office and director of the Fred A. Beck Company. Following his father's example, Herb twice served as President of the Board of Woodstock Club. He was a past President and Board member of the University Club, and was honored as its Clubman of the Year. Herb's other memberships include Players Club, Twirlers, Lambs Club, Contemporary Club, Indiana Society of Chicago, I.U. Varsity Club and Hoosier Hundred, and Park Tudor Alumni Association. ears, Herb was active in Boy Scout Troop 174. Herb is survived by his loving wife of over 29 years, Lynn Crosby Wilson; his six children and nine grandchildren, Lynne West (John Riley) and sons, Zachary and Christopher of Abbeville, SC; Lee Evans (Gordon) and son, Seth of Phoenix, AZ; Herbert E. of Fishers; Laurie Lott (Lee) and sons, Tyler and Trent of Indianapolis; Dale A. (Julie) and daughter, Taylor, and son, Wade of Eaton, CO; Kevin A. (Virginia) and daughters, Gwen Mercedes and Alexandra of Indianapolis. Other survivors include his mother-in-law, Donna Crosby of Danville, IN; father-in-law, Richard Crosby (Carolyn) of Indianapolis; nephew, William Stephenson (Laurel); and great nephews, Coleman and Harrison of Mendota Heights, MN. Herb was predeceased by his sister, Joan Stephenson; and nephew, Robert Stephenson of Media, PA. Calling will be Wednesday, January 7 from 4-7 p.m. at Leppert Mortuary in Nora, followed by a Sigma Chi White Rose ceremony at 7 p.m. Funeral services will be held at Second Presbyterian Church, of which Herb was a member, on Thursday, January 8 at 10 a.m., followed by burial at Crown Hill Cemetery.
