Richard Orville Sneed,62, of Carmel, Indiana, passed away May 14, 2009. Following a 20 month battle with brain cancer. Mr. Sneed was born August 6, 1946 in Ewing, Illinois. Preceded in death by father, Orville Sneed, brother Garry Dean Sneed, and sister Joyce Moorman. Also preceded by his dog and faithful companion Chelsea. Husband to Mary "Dolly" Sneed for 43 great years. Beloved father of Gary A. Sneed and Richard A. Sneed. Cherished father in law to Beatrice V. Sneed and Traci Sneed. Wonderful grandfather to 4 grandchildren; Nicole Sneed, Gary E. Sneed, Madelyn Sneed and Sophie Sneed. Also survived by mother Ruby Sneed, sister Barbara Snyder, Sister Rhonda Griffith, sister Kim Bauer, father in law Talo Nava, uncle Roy Sneed and numerous beloved friends and relatives. Mr. Sneed graduated from Oak Hill High School in Converse, Indiana in 1965 and later Indiana Business College. Mr. Sneed served honorably in the United States Army from 1966 to 1970. He was stationed at Fort Carson in Colorado Springs, Colorado. This is where he met the love of his life, Mary D. and the wonderful Nava family. eed was employed by Levy Home Entertainment where he was a District Supervisor and in 2007 he was awarded District Field Supervisor of the Year. Richard enjoyed fishing, cycling, The Chicago Cubs and The Indianapolis Colts. He enjoyed watching Fox News and loved to eat many kinds of cake and popcorn. He also enjoyed anything that would make anyone in his company happy. Richard never met a stranger. Most of all, Mr. Sneed enjoyed spending his time with his children and grandchildren. Visitation will be Wednesday May 20, 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel, Indianapolis. The funeral service will be Thursday, May 21 starting at 11:00 a.m. in the mortuary.
