Laura Ann Strand 54, went home to be with Jesus on August 28, 2009. She is remembered and loved by her husband of 27 years Greg, and her children Jon and Natalie Strand, Liz and JD Collar, and Heather Strand. Laurie rested in God's peace throughout her journey with metastatic breast cancer in her liver. She had a heart for Jesus, and throughout her life she allowed Him to live through her, resulting in many transformed lives. She was deeply moved by compassion and truly loved people from her heart despite their background or need. Laurie encouraged all she knew to live life to the full. She herself enjoyed writing, painting, hiking, kayaking, horseback riding, worshipping, and laughing with family. She chronicled her personal journey with cancer on her blog www. upapaddle.blogspot.com. In lieu of flowers, Laurie and her family ask that donations be made to The Laurie Strand Memorial Fund at the visitation andor celebration service or mailed to 6501 N. College Avenue in Indianapolis. Funds will be used in the creation of a ranch retreat ministry that Laurie and Greg had envisioned together. Details of the ranch can be found on her blog.
