Leroy "Roy" Peterson

LeRoy ?Roy? Peterson, passed away October 17. He was born March 18, 1940 to the late Ernest and Irene Peterson in Minneapolis, MN. He proudly served in the United States Navy. After leaving the military Roy worked for Browning-Ferris Industries for over 20 years. He was a member of the American Legion, Masonic Lodge-Calvin Prather, the Scottish Rite 33rd degree, Shriners, and a member of the NRA. Survivors include his wife of 37 years, Gretchen (Smith) Peterson; son, Jeffrey L. Peterson (Missy); daughters, Jill K. Washington and Heidi Gibbs (Daryl); grandchildren, Taylor, Bryce, Justus, Jakob, Cade, Daryl, Emma, and Grace; sister, Eda Altringer; In-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and a brother- in -law, Lawrence Altringer. Family and friends will gather, Monday, October 19 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel, Indianapolis, with the funeral service on Tuesday, October 20, starting at 11:00 a.m. in the mortuary.
