Charles A. Melangton

Charles (Chic) A. Melangton went to be with the Lord on November 1, 2009. He was born on April 26, 1933 in Evanston, Illinois to the late Philip R. and Mary Jane Cleveland Melangton. Mr. Melangton moved to Plymouth, IN in 1937 and graduated from Plymouth High School in 1951. He attended Indiana University School of Business and graduated in 1959, and was a member of the Sigma Chi Fraternity. He served in the United States Air Force for four years during the Korean War. He retired after 35 years of service from Sears Roebuck & Co. in 1993. Mr. Melangton was involved in many civic activities which included Chamber of Commerce, Junior Achievement, YMCA, Salvation Army, and Kiwanis. He was a member of Radiant Christian Life Church, Westfield, IN. He was an avid reader and a serious student of the Bible. Chic was eager to share his Christian faith with everyone that he came in contact with. He was preceded in death by brother Philip R. Melangton, of Indianapolis. Visitation will be at Radiant Christian Life Church in Westfield on Friday, November 6, from 9:30am to 11am, with a memorial gathering immediately following from 11am to 12 noon.
