Byron Nelson

Byron Victor Nelson was born on September 24, 1978, in Windom, Minnesota to Lynn Douglas and Katherine Elayne (Sass) Nelson. Byron was baptized at an early age in Windom and received his education in the Windom Public Schools. Through the years, Byron worked as a hog herdsmen for several different pork producers in the area and then as a CNA at the Good Samaritan Society in Windom and then for Colonial Manor in Lakefield. He was currently laid off from his work with Ag Builders in Windom and was to be called back in the spring. Byron had been living in Lakefield, Minnesota and that is where he passed away suddenly on Saturday morning, January 9th, 2009, at the age of 31. Byron was a member of the American Lutheran Church in Windom. He had many enjoyments in life which included fishing, hunting, camping, and just about anything else to do with the outdoors. He also was an artist and a good drawer and interior decorator. Byron will be remembered for his smile and love for his family. Theodore Nelson and his wife, Janine, of Jackson; Anthony Nelson and special friend, Dawn Helmic of Ellsworth; grandparents, Marlene Schelen and her husband, John of Oakdale, MN and Herbert Sass of Indiana; special friend, Laura Dolmeyer of Lakefield; seven nieces and two nephews.
