Linda Ann Holland, age 68 of Carmel, IN passed away June 8, 2010. Linda was born on October 8, 1941, to the late Edwin H. and Helen (Nordin) Olson in Chicago, IL. She moved to Birmingham, MI with her family while a young girl and relocated to Indianapolis in 1965 following her marriage to Michael W. Holland. Being a loving wife, mother and grandmother was her great joy. Linda?s faith, family, friends and service to others were the priorities of her life. She loved to read and to teach. She was a high school teacher of English literature at Waterford Kettering High School, Waterford, MI, and then at Lawrence Central High School. She was also a literacy teacher and mentor. Linda was a member of St. Christopher?s Episcopal Church, Carmel, where she served a variety of volunteer activities. She was a past member of the parish Vestry, serving as both Junior and Senior Warden. She was a certified Steven Minister Leader. She was a dedicated member of St. Margaret?s Hospital Guild and the Decorator?s Show House. She served as General Chair of the 2006 Decorator Show House, The Chateau Renaissance. ction of the Show House Program. She worked tirelessly as the liaison for St. Margaret?s Hospital Guild with Wishard Health Services? EMBRACE Program, providing wrap-around services for women with cancer. She was an active participant in Bible studies including Creative Living and Bible Study Fellowship where she previously served as a group leader. Linda was a past president of the Mohawk Crossing Women?s Association and the Keystone Woods Neighborhood Association. Her last employment was at the Carmel Clay Public Library. A 1963 graduate of Hillsdale College, Hillsdale, MI, Linda was recognized in Who?s Who in America?s Colleges and Universities. She was member of Pi Beta Phi fraternity. She was a proud supporter of Hillsdale and later served as Secretary to the College?s Executive Alumni Board. Linda was the wife of Michael W. Holland for 44 years; the proud mother to Stacia L. (Michael) Pratt and Erik M. (Faye) Holland; and proud grandmother to Ryan and Luke Pratt, Carmel; and Lilian, William Henry ?Hank? and Anne Holland of Austin, TX. Her brother, Mark A. Olson, Roswell, GA, also survives. A Celebration of Life Service will be conducted on Saturday, June 19, 2010 at 11:00 am in St. Christopher Episcopal Church, 1402 W. Main St. Carmel, IN (131st and Meridian St). Family and friends will gather on Friday, June 18, 2010 from 4:00 to 7:00 pm in the church.
