Laura Louise (Peggy) Cox of Indianapolis passed away on September 3, 2010, at the age of 95. Born in Hamilton County in 1914, she was the daughter of William Eugene and Goldie Brouhard Perkins and a graduate of Carmel High School. She was preceded in death by her husband of forty years, Lester W. Cox, her parents and her brother Donald E. Perkins. Known to her friends as ?Peggy,? she was a dedicated wife and mother, a church and community volunteer, and a private real estate investor. Peggy, along with her late husband, owned and developed Old Pickwick Drive on the far north side of Indianapolis. Extensive travel was an avocation enjoyed by her. Peggy was a member of St. Luke?s United Methodist Church, and an ordained Deacon at First-Meridian Heights Presbyterian Church. She was a charter member of the Indianapolis Museum of Art Alliance. Peggy was also a member of the Decorative Arts Society, People of Vision, The Propylaeum, and the Indianapolis Embroiderers Guild. During the bi-centennial, a needle-work designed by her was exhibited at the Indiana State Museum. Peggy enjoyed many years as an active member of the Culver Military Academy Mother?s Club. our children, Judith Cox Lentz-Hoog (George), Sylvia Cox Barr (Ken), Bruce W. Cox (Susan), and Gary L Cox (Anne-Marie D.), seven grandchildren (one deceased), seven great-grandchildren, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be held on Friday, September 10, 2010, at St. Luke?s United Methodist Church. Visitation will be in the church parlor beginning at 10:00 a.m. to 11:15 a.m. with services following at 11:30 a.m. in the sanctuary. A private burial will immediately follow the service. Donations in her memory may be given to St. Luke?s United Methodist Church, 100 W. 86th. Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260; or St. Vincent?s Hospice, 8450 N. Payne Road, #100, Indianapolis, IN 46268.
