Violet K. Prah 94, of Indianapolis died on March 13, 2011. She was born in New York City on April 26, 1916 to Gustav and Helena Kahila. The family moved to Cleveland where Violet graduated from West High School in 1934 and attended Fenn College to study writing. She wrote throughout her life and was active in The National League of American Pen Women as president of both the Indianapolis and Indiana state chapters. Besides writing, Violet's enduring passions were her family and her faith. Always the optimist, Violet's children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were way above average. Married for 66 years to Harry, she worked next to him for 40 years in building a successful business while guiding her five children into various professions. Violet especially enjoyed writing for the "Time for Timothy Church Mouse" television program. Her love of children and their well being came through with every episode. Violet was preceded in death by her husband, Harry, and sister, Tontuu.
