John "Jack" Neff
John (Jack) W. Neff age 85 of Indianapolis, IN passed away Friday April 1, 2011. Jack was born on February 10, 1926 in Fort Wayne, IN to the late Harry August and Miskel Ellen (Till) Neff. He graduated from Purdue University in 1950 with BS in Mechanical Engineering and was a member of the Sigma Alpha Epsilon Fraternity. Jack was president of Neff Engineering retiring in 1997 and was with the company for 47 years. He was also the retired Chairman of PHD, Inc. in Fort Wayne, IN. He served his country in WWII in the US Army. He was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fluid Power Educational Foundation, Meridian Hills Country Club, Royal Ponciana Country Club in Naples Florida, John Purdue Club President?s Council. Jack was honored to be named a Kentucky Colonel. He was an avid golfer, lover of Purdue Athletics and enjoyed sports activities of his children and grandchildren. Humble Jack was an honest, generous, friendly man with an enduring spirit. Jack was predeceased by his parents, and brothers; James and Thomas Neff. Funeral services will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church on Tuesday April 5, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Family and friends will gather on Monday April 4, 2011 from 5:00 to 7:00 PM and Tuesday April 4th from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM in the Leppert Mortuary, Nora Chapel.
