Larry Edward Streeter, PhD, 66 passed away April 25, 2011. He was born in Austin, Texas and was the son of Vernon B. and Bernice Amy Streeter. Larry loved listening to music, traveling and watching movies. He was legally blind and spent his entire adult life advocating and working to improve the lives of the blind. An active member of the National Federation of the Blind since 1975 he served as President of Local Chapters and President of the National Federation of the Blind of Idaho for 5 years. Larry was working as Asst. Superintendent at the Indiana School for the Blind. As a child, his parents guided and taught him the importance of a good education. He loved learning and keeping his brain active. Larry graduated from McCallum High School in Austin, Texas in 1963. . In May of 2007, he received his PhD from the University of Idaho. Larry was a great leader in any circumstance. He loved his family and was an active member in the Mormon Church. He loved his Heavenly Father and knew that he would return to live with him someday. He was preceded in death by his father, Vernon B. Streeter. Family and friends will gather, Friday, April 29, from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. with the funeral service starting at 5:00 p.m at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 10710 Shelborne Road, Carmel, IN.
