John Edward Murt

John Edward Murt passed away on May 20, 2011 at the age of 74. He was born in Indianapolis to John and Imogene Murt on November 8th, 1936. John was a graduate of Cathedral High School, and attended Hanover College. He served his country in the U.S.Navy. Throughout his years John coached CYO football at Christ the King, St. Thomas, and Immaculate Heart. He received the St. John Bosco and Msgr. Albert Busald Service awards for his years of dedication to coaching youth football. John is survived by his three sons, Jeffrey (Patti), Gary (Traci), and Stephen (Rachael) Murt; step-daughters Lisa Sueng and Julie Pekarek, their mother Joyce Pekarek; sisters JoAnne Casey and Nancy Worysz, and nine grandchildren; Rachal Wall, Audrey Poole, Ryan, Chris, Emily, Caitlyn, Carsen, MacLean, and Teghan Murt.
