He has four grandchildren: Jacob Sparks of Sheridan, Indiana, Amanda (and Justin) Bosserman of Artesia, New Mexico, Andrew Terhune of Sheridan, Indiana, and Charlotte Harrison of Fishers, Indiana. Charlie enjoyed working and gardening. He loved having garage sales at least twice in the summer. He also loved spending time with his family. He has been on many vacations including cruises and trips to Hawaii, Florida, Tennessee, and New York. Charlie spent eleven days in his ?home away from home? in Treasure Island, Florida, last month. It was such a special time with his wife, children, and grandchildren. He loved to fish, and did so until his final days. Charlie loved to make his ?Indiana?s Finest? peanut butter fudge. He was always giving it to friends and family that were going through tough times. Charlie and Pat would visit homebound friends and family and take them flowers and fudge. Charlie donated to the Cornelius Foundation that helps children in South America. He just received a compassion award for his giving. He also donated to Open Doors, Red Bird Mission, and Indiana Public Schools just to name a few. He was always thinking of others. Grandpa ?Chuckles? and Grandpa ?Kitty? were a couple of Charles? nicknames given to him by the grandkids. He was always telling his funny stories, singing silly songs, dancing, and telling jokes just to get a laugh from them. He will always be remembered for his love for Christ, his Church, and the community. He spent many hours praying for people. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather that will be sorely missed. Everyone who knew Charlie will never forget the joy he brought to their lives. Visitation will be on Monday, July 18, 2011, from 4 to 8 p.m. at Leppert Mortuary, Smith Carmel Chapel, 900 N. Rangeline Road, Carmel. Funeral service will be held at Radiant Christian Life Church, 16162 Carey Road, Westfield on Tuesday, July 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. with calling starting at 10 a.m. In lieu of flowers, you may make a foundation to the Cornelius Foundation International, Inc.
