Walter "Walt" English,

Walter M. ?Walt? English, Jr., age 81, a devoted father and son, passed away Friday, July 15, 2011. Born December 8, 1929, he was the son of the late Walter M. and Blanche (Babcock) English, Sr. His sister, Carolyn Valentine also preceded him in death. Walt was an Air Transportation Engineering graduate of Purdue University. He was a pilot for Pan Am Airlines and also was employed at Allison Transmission. He started Academy of Flight flying school at Eagle Creek Airport and considered himself quite the entrepreneur. He was owner of The Knot Shop in downtown Indianapolis, was a real estate developer, having built several buildings in Zionsville, and even sold log homes at one time. He was an US Air Force veteran and loved to socialize and fish. In his many travels, Walt once lived in Africa and several states including: Texas, Washington, Illinois, Wisconsin, California and Indiana. Survivors include his daughters: Celeste (Gil) Berry, Mary Ann (Chris) Ettner and Sheri (Richard) Haviza; his sister, Alice Belle Eager; and two nieces and one nephew.
