Robert L. Bach, 95, died October 30, 2011. He was General Counsel, secretary and an attorney for American United Life Insurance Company, where he worked for 34 years until retiring in 1986. He also served four years as an attorney for the former Fletcher Trust Company.
During World War II, he served four years as a first lieutenant in the Army Transportation Corps.
He was a member of the American Legion, American Judicature Society, American Council of Life Insurers, Association of Life Insurance Counsel, and American Bar Association.
Mr. Bach graduated from the University of St. Thomas, St. Paul, Minnesota in 1934 and from Indiana University Bloomington, School of Law in 1950 where he served as an editor of the Indiana Law Journal.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Vincent de Paul Society and the Salvation Army. Services will be held at St. Luke Catholic Church at 11 a.m. on Friday, November 4 preceded by a calling at 10 a.m. Burial will be at Rehoboth Cemetery, Elizabeth, Indiana next to his beloved wife, Elinor Fay, who preceded him in death.
