Robert Blough ?Bob? Hunt, 88, passed away October 17, 2011 in Atlanta, Georgia. ?Bud? as he was known by his family, was born in Somerset, Pennsylvania on December 9, 1922. Growing up in neighboring, Johnstown, Pennsylvania, Bud loved to hunt with his dad and friends and was an accomplished musician of the Hawaiian steel string guitar, a talent which he carried over to other instruments in his later years. At the breakout of World War II, Bob worked in the defense industry in Cleveland, Ohio, where he met his dear wife, Pat, celebrating sixty-one years of marriage until her death in 2007. Following his retirement after thirty-three years with General Motors/Detroit Diesel Allison in Indianapolis, Bob and Pat was a couple ?on the go? traveling extensively throughout the world and across the United States into their 80?s. Bob was an avid bridge player, a member of the Murat Shrine of Indianapolis and along with his wife, Pat, were members of Second Presbyterian Church of Indianapolis where they will eternally rest together in the church?s Memorial Garden. Survivors include son, Robert Chester Hunt (Deborah) of Southlake, Texas; daughter, Patti Hunt of Chicago, Illinois; grandchildren, Leif Erik (Cherry) of Hong Kong, Sabrina Ann DesChamps (Rick)of Round Lake, Illinois; Holly Marklyn Hunt of Southlake, Texas; Leslie Anne Vanatta of Birmingham, Alabama; sister, Winifred, ?Winnie? Williams of Davidsville, Pennsylvania; and great-grandsons Cadman Strid and Ricky DesChamps. The family wishes to thank his second family, the very caring staff of Sunrise of East Cobb, Dr. Jeff Polekoff, and the nursing staff of North side Hospital in Atlanta, Georgia. A memorial service for Bob will be conducted Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 11:00 A.M. in Indianapolis, Indiana at Second Presbyterian 7700 North Meridian Street with inurnment in the church?s Memorial Garden. In lieu of flowers, family requests that contributions be made to the Joan B. Malick Seminary Scholarship Fund, Second Presbyterian Church, 7700 North Meridian Street, Indianapolis, IN 46260. The Scholarship is awarded annually to one or more worthy ministerial students at McCormick Theological Seminary, Chicago, Illinois and/or those under the care of Second Presbyterian Church at other seminaries.
