James Charles Duffy, born March 6, 1931 in Cleveland, Ohio, to George C. Duffy and Dorothy (Dolly) Rooney Duffy, both deceased. A younger brother, Christopher, died in 2004. Survivors are daughter, Julia Duffy and her two children Tyler and Hope; daughter in law Paige Brix Kawasaki and children David, Brian, Andrew and Camille; stepdaughter, Linda Johnson Andrews, and her daughters Haley and Britten, and a grandson, Michael J. Wegner. Duffy also is survived by a sister in law several nieces, nephews and first cousins. He was preceded in death by parents, son Michael, and wife Shirley. Reared in Lakewood, Ohio, and graduated from Lakewood High School. Attended Vanderbilt University, Harvard Graduate School of Business Administration and earned a bachelor?s degree in journalism with honors from The Ohio State University. He served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, 1951-1955, three years of which were in U.S. Air Force Security Service in communications intelligence. He was discharged as a staff sergeant.
