Richard Duane Skooglund was born in Vancouver, Washington, April 25, 1936. He died April 29, 2012. He was 76. He is survived by his wife, Suzanne Green Skooglund, his children Leanne Skooglund Hofford (Buzz), Leslie Skooglund (Jon Wunrow), and Keith. His sisters are Marilyn Forman, and Karen Farthing. He leaves six grandchildren: Tyler Henke, Summer Hofford, Casey Hofford, Eli Skooglund, Isaac Skooglund and Seth Wunrow-Brushafer. He is also survived by his beloved cat, Ben. He was preceded in death by his parents June Skooglund Petro and Carl Skooglund. He earned degrees from Northwest Christian College, Christian Theological Seminary, and Butler University He entered the ministry as a student minister at the Christian Church in Oxford, Indiana. He also served the Christian Church in Moscow, Idaho, and University Christian Church in Seattle, Washington. Dick became the Associate Director of Development at Christian Theological Seminary in 1971.
