Sue DeMars

Sue Murray DeMars, passed away, Saturday, January 24, 2015 at age 87. Born January 2, 1928 in Indianapolis, Sue DeMars graduated from Shortridge High School. She attended Briarcliff College and Indiana University where she was a member of Kappa Alpha Theta sorority. "Susie" married Edward (Ted) Reser of Lafayette, IN in 1948. Living in West Lafayette through the years 1948 to 1983, Sue was an active leader in several community volunteer organizations including the League of Women Voters, Friends of Downtown and the Lafayette Volunteer Bureau. She also served in civic affairs, including an elected term as a Tippecanoe County Commissioner. In 1984, Sue married Richard B. DeMars and returned to live in Indianapolis where she continued her passion with community volunteer work. Sue was a member of Second Presbyterian Church in Indianapolis. Preceding her in death were Sue's parents, James Lee Murray & Lucy Hughes Murray; brothers, William H. Murray & James L. Murray Jr. and husband, Richard B. DeMars.
