John W. Jameson, 85 died peacefully on Saturday, May 21, 2016. John was born on September 10, 1930 to the late John and Euva Jameson of Mountain, WI. John met Chris after his service in the Navy during the Korean war. Following the end of the war, they were married at Resurrection Lutheran Church in Green Bay in June of 1954. John was a lifetime member of Resurrection Lutheran church. John's entire career was with the Green Bay & Western Railroad. Throughout his years there he worked his way up from the shop clerk, and eventually retired as Manager of Personnel. After retirement he volunteered at Bellin Hospital for over 15 years. He also did volunteer work at Resurrection Lutheran Church Food Pantry for 22 years. When he was not volunteering, he enjoyed many travels and time at the cottage on Legend Lake with wife Chris. John was a man of his word, never letting anyone down, promises made were always kept. If he said he was going to be somewhere at a certain time, he would show up 5 minutes early. Being exactly on time was almost considered late. He faced a number of different health issues in his later days, seems there was always an appointment with a doctor or medical ...[more]

cialist for something. His most recent appointment was really more of a call, sort of an offer you can't refuse. It was an appointment from which he will not be returning. However, that appointment came with a huge bonus - a reunion with his loving wife Chris of 59 years, along with family and friends he has not seen in a long time. It took him to a wonderful place where he will be socializing, telling some of his great stories and relaxing to his heart's content. In this place, laughter and love are guaranteed, the food is great, the lake at the cabin is always calm, and you always get Jameson Irish whiskey in your Manhattan. He left instructions for his son and grandchildren to be sure that everyone celebrate his mission here, which is now complete. As he faced his final days, with his body simply wearing out, he occasionally misplaced a bit of the good humor he was known for. But he never had self-pity. In the days before he passed when his family and caretakers would ask him how he was doing, he always gave the same answer. I'm fine. Farewell John, rest in peace. You did good. You did real good. John is survived by sister, Dolly Peck; son Gregg (Cindy) Jameson; grandson Eric (Laura) Jameson, granddaughter, Kristin (Seth) Kaiser; and great granddaughter Myla Jameson. John was preceded in Death by parents, John & Euva Jameson; brothers, George, Bill, Walter (Bud), Leroy (Nook) and Charles (Bob). And preceded by sisters, Mary Wachal, Syble Hopp, JonNell Gumz, Wilma Bancroft & Janie Rhyner. Visitation for John will be held at Resurrection Lutheran Church 1024 Shawano Ave, on Thursday, May 26, 2016 at 9:30 am until the funeral service at 11:00 am with Pastor Ed Baseman officiating. Entombment will take place at Ft. Howard Mausoleum. Online condolences may be expressed at www.lyndahl.com.
