Daniel Dro
Daniel "Dan" Hartley Dro passed away on June 1, 2016 at his home in Carmel, IN at the age of 38. He was the first born son of Daniel and Theresa. They welcomed him into the world on February 21, 1978. Dan was a graduate of Carmel High School in 1996 and went on to the University of Southern Indiana, where he was a member of Alpha Kappa Lambda Fraternity and earned his Bachelor's Degree in Marketing in 2001. He worked in sales and marketing for Brightpoint and HP Products and then went on to pursue his dream of starting his own business. However, his favorite "occupation" was being a father to his two children Kaden and Addison. Dan was an avid sports enthusiast and played multiple sports growing up including, football, baseball, and basketball. Early on, he and his Dad began working on cars together, rebuilding his first car, a 1979 Chevy Blazer. This fueled his passion for being a "jack of all trades" around the home and in the garage. He was always willing to help a friend out by changing their oil, brake pads or giving their car a tune up, skills that he learned from his father. Dan was also an animal lover, rescuing 3 dogs; Zoe, Cubby, and Wrigley. He will forever be remembered as a fun loving, kind, and generous man who put the needs of others ahead of his own, and loved his children with all his heart. Dan is preceded in death by Grandparents, Robert and Florence Hartley, Robert and Jean Dro, and his Aunt, Jan Mills Hartley. Dan is survived by his parents, Daniel and Theresa; children, Kaden Gabriel (April Dro) and Addison Elizabeth (Sara Shelton); siblings, Robert (Laura) and Celeste Richardson (Curt); as well as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins and Nieces. A visitation is scheduled for June 8th, 2016 from 3-7PM with a celebration of Dan's life immediately following at Leppert Funeral Home Smith-Carmel Chapel. Diane Clayton will officiate the ceremony.
