David Swartzendruber passed away peacefully surrounded by family on Saturday, June 4th, after a lengthy bout with Huntington's disease. Dave was born October 16, 1957 in Mount Pleasant, IA, to Darlene and Max Swartzendruber. He graduated from Mount Pleasant High School in 1976 and married Connie Miller of New London in 1979. They had two daughters, Jennifer Bowling of Danville and Christina Bowman of Burlington. David excelled professionally, he was named the youngest ever foreman at Heatilator Fireplace. He also worked at Rural Electric Coop in Mount Pleasant and he held management positions at both Exide Battery and Champion Spark Plug of Burlington. He enjoyed spending his time playing softball in rec leagues, playing pool, fishing, camping, enjoying his grandkids, watching his St. Louis teams, and the Hawkeyes. He was preceded in death by his parents, Darlene and Max Swartzendruber; grandparents, Mary and Earl Swartzendruber and Alva and Agetha Cluff; his uncle, Floyd Cluff; and aunts, Wilma Miller and Maureen Decker. . Visitation for family and friends will be Thursday, June 9th from 5-7 pm and funeral services will be Friday, June 10th at 10:30 am, both at Lunning Chapel in Burlington. The Rev. Scott Collier will officiate. Interment will be in Sugar Creek Cemetery, Wayland.
