George Donald Wold

Richland Center - George Donald Wold, age 87 of Richland Center, Wisconsin died on Tuesday, July 12, 2016 at Agrace Hospice Care in Fitchburg, Wisconsin. He was born on May 17, 1929 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Martha Seifert and George Washington Wold. George was united in marriage to Margaret "Peggy" Louise Schrimpf Karr on February 22, 1959 in Lake Villa, IL. He served in the United States Army during the Korean War and was stationed in Okinawa. He later worked as a maintenance mechanic for Commonwealth Edison at their station 16 in Waukegan, Illinois for 32 years, retiring in 1991. He was a member of the IBEW. Growing up in Chicago, he became an avid Cubs fan and continued to root for his favorite "home" team long after retiring to Richland Center, WI. George is survived by his six children: Robert C. (Lynette) Karr, Steven A. (Cathy) Karr, Debra D. (Tom) Krueger, Kimberly K. Phelps, Terence L. (Tracey) Wold, and Kevin J. A memorial service will be held on Friday, July 29, 2016 at 4:00 p.m. at LAKE VILLA UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 110 McKinley Avenue, Lake Villa, Illinois 60046.
