James Francis Shields, Jr.

James Francis Shields Jr. passed away in his sleep at home surrounded by his family on August 4, 2016. He was born December 15, 1937 to James Francis Shields Sr. and Mary (LoSasso) Shields in North Bergen, New Jersey. James served his country in the United States Navy and Naval Reserves. On June 29, 1963 he married Theresa Nan Thomas which lasted for 43 years until her death in October 2007. James is survived by his daughter Tracy Simpson, daughter Tammy Doyle, son James Shields III, son-in-law Tom Doyle, daughter-in-law Kimberlee Shields, his loving grandchildren Shayne, Jessie, Connor, Griffin and Lilee, brother Dennis Shields and sister-in-law Joy Shields and many nieces, nephews and extended family and friends. James (Jim) enjoyed hunting, fishing and mechanics. He played baseball and basketball in his younger years. He enjoyed watching football and antique car shows on the weekends as well as enjoying time spent with friends at the Cooper City American Legion and the Miramar Moose Lodge.
