Robert Leon Polen

Robert Leon Polen, 74, of Metropolis, Illinois, formerly of Burlington, died Sunday, September 18, 2016 in Metropolis. Born on December 8, 1941, in Burlington, he was the son of James Nelson and Doris Gertrude (Kriel) Polen. He married Michelle Hickey, they later divorced. He married Euline Jeffries, she died in 1996. Mr. Polen was a bookkeeper for many years. Survivors include two sons; Jeff (Cherie) Polen of Romeoville, Illinois and Kevin (Debbie) Polen of Melrose Park, Illinois; four grandchildren, Kelly, Kirstin, Abigail and Thomas James; one brother, James (Karen) Polen of Burlington and niece, Beth Polen of Cedar Rapids. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife. Cremation has been accorded. A graveside memorial service and inurnment will be held at a later date in Aspen Grove Cemetery. [more]
