John H. Waspi

John H. Waspi 89 of Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on September 21, 2016. He was born in Davenport, Iowa to Charles and Leona Waspi on December 29, 1926. John attended Isaac C. Elston High School in Michigan City, IN and Purdue University. He was a Sargent First Class of the US Army during WWII. John spent his career in the moving and storage business in senior executive positions with Allied, Global, and Wheaton Van Lines. He was also director of the American Movers Conference. John was a member of Second Presbyterian Church and Sertoma Club of Broad Ripple, where he became an honorary member, one of their few. John had a passion for fine food, an occasional martini and of course, the love of his life, Frances. He enjoyed photography, sharing his talent with fellow congregants by photographing baptisms and events at the church. He was an avid reader and would often share his books with his friends. John is survived by wife of 63 years, Frances; daughter, Jill (Dave) Sherzer, Costa Mesa, CA; daughter, Lynn Dencker, Lake Forest, CA; grandson, Ryan Dencker; brother-in-law, Lester Hansen; and many nieces and nephews.
