Leon Slade was born on April 4, 1938 to the union of Cerra and Maude Slade in Marshall, TX. He was born a twin and was the youngest of 12. Leon moved to Seattle and graduated from Garfield High School in 1956. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of Greater Mt. Baker Baptist Church until his illness.
Leon worked for Bethlehem Steel as a crane operator and retired after 31 years of employment. He was a hard worker and after retirement went on to work for the Seattle Public Schools for 10 years.
Leon enjoyed doing yard work. He also loved traveling and spending time with his family and friends. Leon had a huge heart and would do anything for you. Leon was as a giver, he provided housing and food to those that needed it.
Leon had an infectious smile that would light up any room and he will be dearly missed.
He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings: Frank, Aperlonie, Lizzie, Odell, Harden, and Verlan Sr.
