Yvonne L. Ediger

Yvonne Louise Ediger, 71, beloved by all who knew her, went home to be with her Lord October 19, 2005. She spent her life ministering to any around her needing comfort, counsel or just a hug. Yvonne was born May 17, 1934 in Portland, Oregon. Yvonne grew up in the Vancouver area and graduated from Battleground High School. Her father pastored Brush Prairie Baptist Church. She attended Biola University from 1952-1953.

She is survived by her husband Bob of 52 years, four children, David Susan Ediger, Suzanne Gary Nyberg, Daniel Bev Ediger; and John Ediger. She has five grandchildren, Wendy, Steven, Nathan, Rachel and Kim. She is also survived by her step-mother Doris Chapman and four siblings, Doug Chapman, Debbie Pietz, Berta Coburn, and Bryan Chapman, as well as numerous nieces and nephews whom she loved.

Yvonne?s list of former occupations is varied. At the top of the list was wife and mother. She served as a missionary with SIM in Nigeria, located in western Africa for eight years with her husband Bob, with whom she spent many years faithfully serving her Lord. in the Seattle Center for several years. She also worked in computer operations for The Boeing Company for a number of years until her retirement.

Yvonne was faced with many difficult circumstances in her life, which she handled without complaint and an unwavering trust in her Lord, delivering words of encouragement to all those around her, as well as a generous supply of hugs. Her concern for others and optimism were infectious. She was a second "Mom" to many who confided in her, both young and old. She was greatly loved and will be missed. She leaves behind a rich and godly heritage.

A memorial service will be held at Berean Bible Church, 2345 North 185th Street in Shoreline, WA 98133 on Tuesday, October 25, 2005 at 2:00 p.m. Family and friends are encouraged to sign her guest book below.
