Barbara Joyce Fort Jones

Our daughter, sister, aunt and loving friend was called home suddenly on March 23rd, 2001 at the age of 57. Barbara was born November 18th, 1943 and grew up in Seattle, WA. After attending the University of Washington for two years, Barbara moved to San Francisco in 1964.

For approximately 14 years Barbara worked as an Administrative Assistant for program serving Bay area children and adults with mental retardation. She made many life-long friends while working for this organization.

She completed her undergraduate studies at UC Berkeley and completed her law degree at Boalt Hall School of Law, UC Berkeley in 1978. Shortly thereafter, Barbara moved to Denver, CO to join the law firm of Sherman & Howard where she practiced for 13 years and made full partner. Barbara moved back to the Bay area in 1993 where she lived out the rest of her life.

Her light, her spirit and devotion to family and friends will be missed so very much. She touched so many lives with her kindness, her loyalty and love for those she cared the most about. arl and Gregory; as well as 4 nephews and 6 nieces and many close friends survive her. Preceded in death by her father, Wendall R. Smith in 1991.

Although dates have not yet been determined, memorial services will take place in San Francisco and in Seattle.
