74, passed away May 26, 2001 peacefully at home. Charles was born September 28, 1926 in Cleveland, Ohio and has been a long time resident of this area. After completing undergraduate work at Arizona University he received a PhD in Physiology from the University of Pennsylvania. In 1964 he obtained a 2nd doctorate in Medicine in Stockholm, Sweden. As a professor, he held a research and teaching position in the department of Physiology at the University of Washington. His passion of sailing, Spanish literature and native American Art was rivaled only by his devotion of the cinema. He was also an ardent Seattle Mariners fan. Charles was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters, and is survived by two daughters, Karin Gale of London, England, Ingrid Gale-Olson of Bellingham; granddaughter, Anika Olson and ex-wife/good friend Gunilla Gale of Seattle. He also has two special sisters: Grace Jones of Sedona, Arizona and Henrietta Kraus of Cleveland, Ohio. He is loved and will be deeply missed by his family and friends.
