at U.S. Rubber, Packard Motor Car Co. and Chrysler Corp. engineering. He retired in 1984 as a supervisor of engineering Dodge Truck Division. He and Elaine moved to Seattle, WA, in 1984 where he continued to serve his community with Shoreline Lions and St. Stephen's Lutheran Church.

Donald was a man of many talents and interests. He loved to travel with his wife and family throughout the country and around the world. He and Elaine enjoyed being members of the Nomads Travel Club based at Detroit Metro Airport. He was a registered Professional Engineer member MSPE, SAE and ASME, American Legion, Shoreline Lions Club and the Elks. As busy as Don was, he always had time for his family. His daughters remember him for his loving patience; whether it was teaching them to ride their bikes, complete math story problems, to grow super tomatoes and garlic or how to put a worm on a fishhook. His grandchildren thank their dear Papa for the rides on the boat, the doll houses he lovingly prepared for them, their car toolboxes, the home baked pies, for instilling dedication to education in them and his unconditional love for them. He was a patient and loving man who touched the hearts of everyone he met. His family will celebrate his life on his 80th birthday on the 4th of July. Please think of Donald as the fireworks fill the sky that evening. On-line thoughts and memories may be left at this site.
