Jack Vermeulen passed away peacefully following a short but courageous battle with cancer. He will be lovingly remembered by his family and friends for his love of life and curiosity of the world. Jack was born in Oosterhout, Netherlands on February 2, 1944. His family moved to the US in 1954. He lived most of his life on the Eastside. He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Gail, his son Robert and his wife Miriam Brase, daughters Rebecca Betschart, Ria Emsley husband Timothy, Malia Dayap and Jaimi Bergh, grandsons Cory Sly, Cody Vermeulen, Kyle Vermeulen, Kevin Betschart, Kayleigh Betschart and Julian Dayap. He is also survived by his sisters and many nephews, nieces, and other extended family and friends far too numerous to mention here. We all loved him very much and will miss him immeasurably. A memorial service will be held on Friday, October 24, at 4:00 p.m. at Evergreen Washelli Funeral Home in Bothell. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the American Cancer Society.
