Hazel Vivian Campbell, 84, of Cedar Rapids, passed away Tuesday, October 11, 2016 at Cedar Manor Nursing Home. Graveside services will be held Saturday, October 15 at 4:00 pm, Mount Vernon City Cemetery. Online condolences may be shared at www.fryfuneralhome.com.
Hazel was born September 9, 1932 in Calmar, Iowa to Gordon and Emma (Bolson) Whitmore, the youngest of eight children. She attended and graduated from Cedar Rapids High School before attending Kirkwood College where she graduated with her degree in Computer/Science. Hazel was employed with the State of Iowa/Grantwood as a computer programmer before her retirement.
Hazel had a unique sense of humor. In her free time Hazel enjoyed bowling, playing Euchre and completing Sudoku puzzles.
Surviving Hazel are her five children, David (Lynne) Tuel of Mechanicsville, Kevin Campbell of Cedar Rapids, Terrie Hall of Trinity N.C., Ellen Broach of Gilbert, S.C., Barbara Batts of Wilson, N.C.; 18 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren.
