David Eugene Woods

David Woods, 52, of Carson, passed away on October 17, 2016. Celebration of Life will be 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, October 22, 2016 at the Carson United Methodist Church with Pastor Brody Tubaugh officiating. Visitation will held one hour prior to the service starting at 9:00 a.m. at the church. At the family's request, please wear your favorite sports team attire. David Eugene Woods, one of six children of Larry Lee Woods and Susan (Tompkins) Woods was born on September 8, 1964 in Council Bluffs, Iowa. He graduated from Carson Macedonia High School in 1982. David worked as a carpenter for McClain's Construction for many years and then ventured out on his own in the construction industry. David enjoyed all sports and watching his children play sports. He was an AVID Husker, Cubs and Royals fan. He coached little league sports and was quite the "play by play" sports analyst; often demonstrating this talent amongst friends! David's children were often his favorite topic of conversation. David passed away on October 17, 2016 in Carson, Iowa at the age of 52 years, 1 month, and 9 days. He was preceded in death by both his maternal and paternal grandparents. David is survived by his parents, Larry and Susan Woods of Mayflower, AR; the love of his life, Michele and children, Haleigh Cash and her daughter Jerzy, Drake Woods and Macy Woods, all of Carson, Iowa; sisters, Lorie Husz of Council Bluffs, Linda Merritt of Conway, AR, Cheryl and Tim Creek of Omaha, NE, Jennifer and Jerod Jensen of Earlham, IA, and Stephanie and Paul Russell of Conway, AK; and other Aunts, and Uncles, Nieces and Nephews; and host of friends.
