ssion. He served as the President of Ramey Retirement Housing, was on the board of the Pennebaker Foundation, the Lions Club and New London Chamber of Commerce. He was a member of the Henry County School Board, Burge Cemetery Board and New London City Council. He enjoyed playing golf, gardening and was an enthusiastic bridge player. Besides his wife, he is survived by daughters, Maria Elliott (Michael Kuhn), Gayla Elliott and Nancy Elliott (Shamil Salah); four grandchildren, Hallie (Newlin) Wilkins, Sophie Kuhn, Georgia Meagher and Zeki Salah; one great granddaughter, Celeste Wilkins; two sisters, Genevieve Lunning and Roberta Peterson, Burlington, and a brother, Scott (Lorraine) Elliott of Tampa, FL. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers-in-law, Al Lunning and Dr. John Peterson. The funeral service for Mr. G.A. Elliott will be held Tuesday, November 1st at the New London Presbyterian Church at 11:00 AM. Officiants will be Reverend Aimee Goldmeyer and The Reverend Michael C. Kuhn. Friends may call Monday from noon until 5:00 at Elliott Chapel, New London. The family will be present to receive friends at the church from 9:30 A.M. Tuesday until the time of the service. Interment will be in Burge Cemetery, New London. In lieu of flowers, memorials have been established for the New London Presbyterian Church and Henry County Hospice.
