ary Order of the Purple Heart Organization, a Charter Member of the Deerfield Rod and Gun Club, and a member of the Volunteer Fire Dept. He marched in many parades in his earlier years in his Legion and/or VFW uniform, whether it be festivals, holidays, or any celebration. He BBQ'd chicken for the Fireman-Legion Festival and the VFW celebrations for many years. He was jokingly referred to as "Colonel Rollie". He would often complain about all the work involved, but he "loved" every minute of it. He was also a member of St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Church. A Memorial Service celebrating Rollie's life will be held at 2 pm on Saturday, November 12, 2016 at St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Church, 3493 Oak Park Rd., Deerfield, with Pastor Holly presiding. Friends and Family may call from 1 pm until time of service. Military Rites to be accorded. In lieu of flowers, donations to St. Paul's Liberty Lutheran Church, Deerfield or Alzheimer's & Dementia Alliance, 501 Segoe Rd., Madison, would be greatly appreciated.
